Lensback is an iPhone app that keeps a short replay buffer from Meta AI glasses so you can save a moment after it happens. It is designed to collect as little as possible. This page explains what it does with your data.
Video and sound from your glasses
- While Lensback is running, video from your glasses camera (and, if you turn sound on, audio from your microphone) is held only in your phone's memory, for the length you choose (15 to 90 seconds).
- Older footage is overwritten continuously. Nothing is written to storage unless you press Save.
- Stopping Lensback erases the buffer.
- Clips you save are stored on your phone, and in your Photos library if you turn that on. You can delete them at any time.
What we don't do
- Lensback has no accounts and no servers. Video, sound and clips are never uploaded by Lensback.
- Lensback doesn't use your video or sound for advertising, analytics, AI training, voice commands or transcription.
- Lensback doesn't sell or share personal data.
Diagnostics
Lensback keeps a small test log on your phone (frame rate, memory use, battery and heat levels). It contains no video or sound. It stays on your phone unless you choose to share it.
Meta and Apple
Lensback connects to your glasses through Meta's Wearables Device Access Toolkit and the Meta AI app. Meta's handling of data is covered by Meta's own privacy policy. Lensback opts out of the toolkit's optional analytics.
